Phil Thomason

Phil Thomason is Principal of Thomason and Associates, Preservation Planners in Nashville, Tennessee. He has completed over seventy design review guideline manuals for communities across the country. Recent projects in Beaufort, North Carolina, Brunswick, Georgia, Georgetown, South Carolina and Mandeville, Louisiana have focused on guidelines for hardening and elevating both residential and commercial buildings.

Phil is a National Trust Advisor, serves on the Board of the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions and is a frequent speaker on issues regarding design guidelines, historic preservation planning, architectural review, historic preservation ordinances, and the design review process.
