Michael Steen

Born in Annapolis MD Michael Steen has grown up on the Chesapeake Bay and is well known educator in both the Environmental Science and Military Cultural History Fields. Michael earned a BA in History from the Virginia Military Institute, an MA in Tourism from Virginia Commonwealth University and has conducted his PHD work in Public Policy and Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a Virginia Natural Resource Leadership Institute fellow with the University of Virginia and is a facilitator for Project Wet, and Project Aquatic Wild. Michael has worked for the National Parks, The Virginia State Parks, Chesterfield County, and the Jamestown Yorktown Foundation. Since 2009 he has served as the Director of Education for the Watermen’s Museum.
