Biography

Adrienne Burke has recently been named Executive Director of  Riverside Avondale Preservation, an organization founded in Jasonville, FL in 1974 and located on the St. John’s River, a “tidally influenced” waterway as Burke mentioned, which is susceptible to flooding.

Previously, Burke worked for the City of Fernandina Beach, Florida’s Community Development Department as the Community Development Director, coordinating Building, Planning, and Code Enforcement. She also served as Senior Planner for the department, where her work focused on historic preservation and natural resource policies and programs, as well as land development code and comprehensive plan compliance.

Adrienne graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in history, and from the University of Florida with a master’s degree in architectural studies/urban planning and a law degree. She is a member of the Florida Bar, is a LEED Accredited Professional, and a trustee with the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation.
