Biography

Douglas Kallfelz has over 17 years of experience across a wide range of residential, institutional and civic project types. As a Partner at Union Studio, Douglas has been the Principal-in-Charge for several of the firm’s award winning sustainable communities, civic buildings and residences.

Douglas joined Union Studio in 2003 after nearly ten years in New York and Boston where he served as designer and manager on a breadth of projects including private schools, civic buildings, mixed use housing and single family homes.

Douglas received his Bachelors of Architecture from Syracuse University where he graduated with Honors, and his Masters of Design Studies from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, where he focused his studies in real estate finance and business/strategic management.

He is an active member of the Congress for the New Urbanism and is the past president of the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Douglas is committed to enduring quality and lasting cultural value as the foundation of sustainable planning and design. He has spoken nationally on a variety of subjects and is committed to bringing lasting contributions to the clients and communities that Union Studio serves. Douglas holds professional licenses in Rhode Island, New York, New Hampshire and Maine.
