Biography

Kokei Otosi is a project manager at Van Alen Institute, a 125-year old not-for-profit organization that uses design to catalyze change in cities. At Van Alen, Kokei manages Keeping Current, a project that includes a series of initiatives seeking innovative solutions to protect South Florida’s six million residents from the potentially catastrophic consequences of sea level rise. Prior to Van Alen, Kokei focused on climate resilience, sustainability, and smart city industry initiatives at New York City Economic Development Corporation. She has also worked for the NYC Parks design administration and the Millennium Villages Project of the Earth Institute at Columbia University. Kokei studied Public Health and Spanish at New York University
