Jay Sylvestre

Biography

Jay Sylvestre is the Rare Books Librarian and Coordinator of Public Services at the Kislak Center for Special Collections at the University of Miami. He is responsible for open access to collection materials through teaching and social media outreach, and the development and enhancement of rare book, manuscript, and archival collections.

Jay received his B.A. in history from Loyola College in Maryland in 2005, and his M.A. in Public History with an Archival concentration from Temple University in 2008. He held previous positions as the Walter J. Hickel Archivist in Archives and Special Collections at the University of Alaska Anchorage, and Project Archivist positions at the Chemical Heritage Foundation in Philadelphia PA, and the Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, DE.
