Biography

Dennis Carlberg, AIA, LEED BD+C, is the Sustainability Director at Boston University where he is focused on mitigating the University’s greenhouse gas emissions while preparing the campus for the impacts from climate change. Dennis is an architect and a LEED Accredited Professional with over 25 years of architectural experience. Prior to joining BU in 2009, he was a principal at Arrowstreet, a Boston based architectural firm where he focused on sustainable design. His architectural and planning work has received awards locally and internationally. Dennis co-chairs the Urban Land Institute Climate Resilience Committee, which released the Urban Implications of Living with Water report in 2014.

Dennis began his career at the Solar Energy Research Institute and Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory conducting daylighting research to reduce building energy consumption and improve the indoor environment.

He received his Master of Architecture degree from MIT where he was awarded the AIA Gold Medal. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
