Biography
Brent R. Fortenberry incoming Director of Preservation Studies and Associate Professor at Tulane University.
Fortenberry specializes in the vernacular architecture of the Atlantic world and the use of digital technology in historic preservation. He has active research throughout the Greater Caribbean where his work concerns the interpretation of everyday historic buildings as well as understanding and mitigating risks to built heritage resources through collaborative stakeholder engagement. Fortenberry holds a Ph.D. in Historical Archaeology from Boston University and an MS from the Clemson/College of Charleston Graduate Program in Historic Preservation.
