Amanda Babson
Biography
Amanda Babson, Ph.D. is the Coastal Climate Adaptation Coordinator for the Northeast Region of the National Park Service. Amanda leads science and resource management efforts related to climate change adaptation for coastal national parks in the Northeast Region and throughout the nation.
She provides scientific technical assistance on vulnerability assessments, identifying and evaluating adaptation options and incorporating adaptation into planning efforts. She coordinates with partnerships and interagency groups for the NPS on landscape scale adaptation science and tools. Prior to joining NPS, she worked for the US Environmental Protection Agency where she conducted climate change vulnerability assessments. She received her Ph.D. in oceanography from the University of Washington.
