Rear Admiral Timothy C. Gallaudet

Holding the rank of Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command for the United States Navy, Admiral Gallaudet is the Oceanographer and Navigator of the Navy.  He oversees Naval activities related to research and analysis of sea level rise impacts on the Navy, including the threat to historic naval sites. A naval oceanographer

with doctoral degree in oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography,  Admiral Gallaudet’s assignments have included tours with the USS Peleliu, USS Kitty Hawk, the USS LaSalle, serving in numerous operations including Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.  Aboard the USNS Bowditch, he participated in the first operational launch and recovery of an undersea glider from a Naval Oceanographic Survey ship.  Ashore, Admiral Gallaudet has served with the Naval Oceanographic Office and the staffs of the Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command.  He was superintendent of the US Naval Observatory and most recently served on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations as the deputy oceanographer before assuming his current command in June 2014.
