Anthony Veerkamp

Biography

Anthony Veerkamp is director of policy at the Preservation Green Lab where he provides leadership in local and state policy shaping and implementing innovative approaches that help communities achieve preservation, resilience, and equity goals. An accomplished non-profit professional with 25 years of preservation policy and advocacy experience in the San Francisco Bay Area, Anthony has expertise in sustainability, climate change mitigation & adaptation, local and state legislative and grass-roots advocacy, urban planning and land use regulations, cultural resource management for parks and open space, and the preservation of intangible heritage. Anthony has helped coordinate a range of legislative advocacy efforts and state & local ballot box initiatives, including San Francisco propositions that created an independent landmarks commission and a first-of-its-kind Legacy Business Historic Preservation Fund. Anthony, received an MA degree in Preservation Studies from Boston University and a BA in Economics and Art History from McGill University.
